APPLEBOX’s first Movie Club
Well tonight kicked off the first of APPLEBOX’s movie clubs. I just quickly wanted to say a big fat public thank you to Sue Maslin who gave us all fascinating stories about the making of Japanese Story and The Road to Nhill, about the role of a producer and about the film industry. I am sure everyone who attended will agree that it was really worth the effort. Stay tuned for more on the night and plans for the future of Movie Club.

Was great! Quite a cosy setting over at the Bean Counter, Andrew serving coffees and Sue giving us the insights. Blew me away to discover on a feature film typically only a few minutes of footage a day gets shot, and with Road to Nhill with the upside-down bowls ladies take .. that dropped to seconds. Here’s looking forward to the next one.

Just looking at my Daily Progress Report from Ultra Violet and we shot a whole
14 seconds for second unit on a shoot day that started on location at 5am and wrapped at 5pm….. Aussie features don’t have the luxury of time.. so a few minutes a day is a cracking pace! In comparison I have worked on tv where you are shooting a 30 minute ep every day… hence the quality difference.
